Bird
I’m usually an early to bed,
Early to rise kind of guy,
I just like the feeling,
Of getting a head start,
I could bore you with details of my morning routine,
But I scarcely let anyone into my sacred time,
It’s a time for me to be intentional and deliberate in my actions,
And to establish a ‘groundedness’ that will stay,
The rest of the day,
It’s a beautiful and simple thing,
Though,
Some nights,
I stay up,
Really late,
Perhaps,
Watching anime,
Or mindlessly,
Watching YouTube videos,
In a cycle of doom scrolling,
As we say,
I do this,
Sometimes unwillingly,
But,
Sometimes,
I’ll do it to test myself,
Just how far can my mind go,
And,
I’ll tell you,
It goes far,
Sometimes I’m not sure it will come back,
And,
Sometimes,
It takes me to places,
Obscured,
And,
Frankly,
Crazy,
These are simply my thoughts,
I remind myself,
But they’ve take me far,
way,
way,
far,
Almost to a point of no return,
I wonder what would happen,
If the mind,
Broke,
I suppose,
Something else,
Would come,
And appear,
As the dominating force,
Maybe,
That is,
Life itself,
Love,
Paradise,
Or insanity,
And maybe they are all not so different,
They are all so far away from our ordinary states,
Which are so full of loathing,
And yet we fear,
What the other option may be,
We fear insanity,
As it represents,
That which is not what we are now,
It’s an unknown thing,
But I say,
Go beyond,
Really go beyond,
Beyond,
Beyond and beyond,
All the way to Pluto if you need,
But,
Come back,
I’d say,
Be like a wandering nomad,
Who goes away,
To return,
With some crazy wisdom,
As Chogyam Trungpa called it,
Yes return,
To Earth,
Because it’s here that we all are,
And it’s here where it all matters,
Your life,
In the whole.
