What in the world !

Did I go to Peru ?

Yep,

Did I come back a changed man,

I don’t know,

Travelling is a spectacle,

An adventure,

An incredible rollercoaster,

Wherein one adapts,

To the unforeseeable events,

Or else the wave of destiny,

Capsizes them,

Absorbs them,

And spits them back out,

Least resistance,

Is the way to put it,

Perhaps,

The best analogy,

Would be that of surfing,

For all those who haven’t,

It’s cool,

And riding the wave,

Is a thing,

Not just a radical, surfer dude thing to say,

But rather,

In the midst of the waters,

Your surf board,

Is like your raft,

And as arduous as you may,

Try,

To surf,

The attempt is unfruitful,

If the wave is not allowed,

It’s space to develop,

And carry you,

And carry you,

Is precisely what it does,

It’s not through an effort of will,

Or something like this,

No robust concentration,

Or spectacular discipline is needed,

A bit of luck perhaps,

Patience,

And suddenly you feel yourself a top a wave,

And it is quite literally,

Effortlessly carrying you,

As though you are some kind of weightless feather,

That’s the feeling,

Quite surprising,

And splendidly relieving,

As though all this pressure,

Mental agitation,

Of doing this and that,

Is suddenly evaporated,

Washed away,

By the wave,

Which is so generously,

Affectionately,

Though not without danger,

Carrying you,

The danger comes when you begin,

To break the bond,

You hesitate,

Whilst trying to stand,

And fall,

And then in a spur of confusion,

You feel the waves,

Coming back and forth,

Pulling you in and out,

You try desperately too find your board,

And finally you cling onto it,

You aboard it,

Whilst still in a panic,

But excited,

Deeply,

Calmly,

By that feeling,

Of effortless flow,

Being carried,

Is the feeling,

Though I was quite bad,

Really,

It was a beautiful concluding experience to the whole trip,

Peru was magic,

Now I’m back,

And I’m better,

And I’m full,

Of that magic.
